This film features James Bond but is not one of the official films in the long saga of the secret agent. It is a remake of Thunderball and stars Sean Connery, who had retired from the role of 007 after You Only Live Twice and had returned in Diamonds Are Forever, only to abandon it definitively by declaring to journalists: “Never Again”. It was precisely because of this statement that the director wanted to name the film Never Say Never Again. The thirteenth film in the official saga, Octopussy, was also released in the same year.
